PERSONAL
I grew up in Charles City Iowa, and starting living in AZ full time in 1999 with stops in between in Minneapolis, MN and Colorado Springs, CO.
1978 graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa with BAs in Biology, Psychology and Physiological Psychology with an emphasis in Sports Management. My athletic administrative background includes working for the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and the Wrestling Department of the University of Minnesota. While in Minnesota, I administrated wrestling camps and the state USA Wrestling affiliate. I am comfortable working with athletes of all levels and their families and understand their particular needs. I have also traveled nationwide showing Percheron draft horses for Petsmart and am knowledgable about horses and horse properties.
Outside Interests - I foster deaf and/or blind Australian Shepherds for Amazing Aussies adoption group and have 2 Aussies of my own. I founded a yearly backpack drive, Team Backpack and have donated thousands of fully supplied backpacks to underserved Valley schools through Phoenix Suns Charities. I sponsor several Ugandan children's education and care through a group "Peace for Paul", and do some limited fundraising for the organization. I am a Mesa Leadership and Mesa Citizen Fire Academy Alumni and am active with local charity "A New Leaf" where I am just rolling out a fund raising project with them called "Power of Homes" which involves Real Estate Industry Professionals in Arizona donating money through their transactions to help serve families and individuals affected by domestic violence and homelessness. I have also been a "Miracle Agent" with Children's Miracle Network since 2018.
