We are Joe & Evangelina Tontz, owners of Tontz Realty & Management and dynamic husband and wife team working together since 1992. Together we have a lovely family with three children. After 10 years of working in the teaching profession, we took the leap of faith and decided to jump into real estate to create a more flexible work schedule in order to support our older child’s successful career in the entertainment business. Luckily, our effort was not in vain as our daughter continues to thrive as an actress (for more information Google Denyse Tontz) and our business took off too. Little did we know, the teaching background experience gave us the upper hand in the ability of being better at listening, understanding, and educating our clients about the process of selling or purchasing a home.
Since we began our real estate venture, we have closed over 236 transactions, of which, 165 have been listings. We take pride in the fact that we receive constant referrals from our loyal clients which for us demonstrates our client’s satisfaction. Through our career we have faced ups and downs including the 2008 recession and we have always come out ahead. The constant changes in the market have allowed us to explore many branches within the real estate industry and have giving us extensive experience in not only traditional residential sales, but also on short sales, foreclosures (REO) and court house foreclosures, investment opportunities and property management. The Tontz Team has also purchased, renovated, and flipped successfully many homes throughout San Diego. Lastly but not least, due to beloved family members that have served or are serving in the military, we decided to specialize our services to the military community in our area too. Therefore, we decided to get our Military Relocation Program-Certificate from the National Association of REALTORS® in order to better understand our military clients.
Our clients like the fact the we are not only sales agents but also college graduates. Joe has a BA in City Planning with an emphasis on Urban Development as well as a master’s degree in Education. Evangelina has a BA in Business Administration. In addition, our clients enjoy the fact that they are hiring two agents for the price of one. With our experience of flipping homes, we also give our clients our opinion on home décor and staging options. We also can provide our clients the option of a cash offer when appropriate as we deal with many large investment firms.
