When I began listing and negotiating short sales there were less than 10 companies nationally performing negotiation services for real estate agents. From what I have seen, not one of those companies are open for business today making mine the oldest in the USA!
In 2003 one of my first closings was a short sale and as a rookie agent, I was looking for a niche and found one that nobody was doing or wanted to do. By 2005 I was negotiating short sales for other agents. In 2006 I obtained my Brokers license and then ran a small Boutique Brokerage for a couple of years in hopes of turning it into a short sale listing specialty company. After seeing that the agents were not cut out for short sales I sold my stake in the Brokerage in order to concentrate on building the short sale negotiation company.
In 2006-2007 I was an integral part of the CDPE designation as an advisor to Alex Charfin while he put together the designation and subsequent program that launched his stellar career.
During the crash years I worked in over 25 states and never had less than 75 short sales in progress at any given time. I taught Continuing education in Michigan for several years and will again be doing that in 2021. Over the past 17 years as a short sale expert I have closed thousands of short sales and will continue helping underwater homeowners through the next covid related downturn.
